It’s the night before the surgery. I got a call from the doctor that I need to use some anti-septic wash and a nasal cleanse because I came out positive for the staph test. I got a chair for my bath tub, so that made things alot easier as far as washing.
I am thankful that everything as far as work and insurance should be no problem. PTL.
The surgery is in the afternoon tomorrow, so I will show up a couple hours early. Still not sure whether to do general or regional anesthesia … everyone here seems to do general (seems like its more b/c of the doctor or anesthesiologist), but local seems to be less impacting.

As I mentioned earlier, God appears to have chosen this ATR to slow me down. The first lesson I learned occurred yesterday, when I was preparing lunch. I was making macaroni and cheese, so I needed to boil water first. Usually, when I make something that requires boiling in the kitchen, I will fill the pot with water, then turn on the stove. Then I’ll go off to the computer or tv in another room and wait until the pot boils before coming back. Well, going off to do something else is so much harder when you have crutches and only one-foot. By the time I hopped to another room, the water would have boiled over, so I stood there and watched the water slowly boil.
Today, I put a stool by the stove, and just sat there and watched the kettle until the water boiled. No more multi-tasking. Focus on the one task at hand.

I ruptured my achilles tendon playing organized basketball for the first time this year. I was planting to move forward to my zone position at the top left of the key. I felt a pop and after that my right foot felt as though it had a ski boot on it. Went to see the orthopedic physician today and he didn’t even need an MRI to tell me that I needed surgery. God has a funny way of working … somehow he must want me to take a break from a busy work schedule. This pretty much grinds things to a halt … am scared about how long it takes to recover based on what I’ve read on the internet.
