surgery tomorrow

Hi, ruptured my left achilles on friday night (11/31/2009) playing badminton(which i hadn’t played for 25yrs). New i had done something pretty bad to my tendon but it took a few hours of waiting in emergency dept. for conformation of the rupture.
Going to see orthopaedic team tomorrow (11/03/2009) to hopefully have surgery straight away. I’m worried about a re-rupture, do you think i can ask the doctor for more stitches joining the tendon together?
