Hello world!

This is my first entry.  I ruptured my Achilles tendon while backpacking in Wales.  When I stumbled, I tried to catch myself from falling, but my heavy backpack was too much and my right tendon snapped.  Didn’t hurt too much, but the foot wouldn’t work.  I hiked for another week (on my right heal), but when I returned to NC found out the tendon tore from the heal, and had surgery 5 days later.  Had to have screws to hold the tendon to the heal.  Had a cast to the knee for nearly 3 weeks.  Now I have a plastic brace which does not allow my foot to flex, and I cannot apply weight to the foot.  Feels better then the cast.  In about 3 weeks, I may get a walking boot.  I seem to be one of the older (62) of the injured.
