I know…the title of this post sounds bad….but I think it’s okay…I slipped on some suds in the shower a couple of days ago as I was sitting in my shower chair-luckily  my rear end hitting the shower chair took the brunt of the fall, although my bad leg did hit the shower floor pretty hard-reflex thing, I guess-but I’ve been FWB on it in a walking boot for about a week now, so it doesn’t seem like it did any major damage

Let this be a lesson to all of you fellow booters-BE VERY CAREFUL IN THE SHOWER-I thought I was-especially, since, for me at least, the shower is the only place I don’t wear the boot-I still sleep with it on, even at 10 wks post-op-I never asked my doc if I still had to, but I figure I’ll stop sleeping in the boot when I stop using the boot completely

One quick question though-when you guys started wearing 2 shoes, did you have to get bigger shoes?  I was being an idiot one day last week, seeing if I could fit a heal lift and my bad foot into one of my old shoes…there is no way it’s fitting—just wanted to know if you guys got bigger shoes to fit the heal lifts when you first went to 2 shoe status?

Hey all–I’ve been having some irritation down near my ankle….I believe it’s the scar from surgery…a sign that I may be TOO active with this thing, and need to slow down….should I be concerned about infection??? It’s been going on for the past few days or so…hasn’t seemed to go away….I feel slight pains in that area every once in a while…and when resting my leg…I can feel it irritated….thoughts?

Hey guys…Just had my two week post op yesterday, stitches came out, doc cleaned up the wound, and gave me a black cast….went back to work today-the black cast is cool, with black socks, you probably couldn’t tell what happened to me…until you saw me walking with these damned crutches…LOL..

One question though guys-I forgot to ask the doctor if I can workout on all my other body parts (upper body, my ‘good’ leg)….my old personal trainer said it shouldn’t be a major issue…told me just not to go crazy with it….I was working out 5-6 days a week prior to my ATR, and I feel like I’m losing all my progress a little each day….thoughts on working out?  I promise to take it easy J

First off, I think this site is incredible—it has really given me a wealth of information, that I wouldn’t have any other way (my doctor/surgeon certainly isn’t giving me any info)

I suffered my injury two days ago (Sunday) playing football—I felt the snap and knew it was serious…went to the ER the same day, they originally thought it might be a partial tear, my orthopedist thought otherwise…full rupture—he scheduled surgery—it’s been a full day since he told me that, and some of the shock has worn off a bit—I mean, I’m 28 yrs old—played sports my whole life, had never been sick, called out of a job, been to an ER, or warn crutches/or a cast….until now….I just can’t believe I’m not going to be able to wear two shoes or walk fully until 2009…over a stupid football game.. L

Again, I’ve gotten a lot of good info through this site—my surgery is scheduled for a week from today—then I’m going to take a wk and a half off of work to recover—I should be ok at work after, I work a desk job?

I just tried to take my first shower—my cast got wet, not soaked, but it did get wet…hopefully it wont mess anything up…

Have to get used to the crutches…and realize I’ll be using them for a while….I just hope I’ll be back to normal after this is all over…
