Wordpress MU upgrade finished. Problems fixed.

May 29th, 2008 · 17 Comments

Warning

The upgrade from 1.3.3 to 1.5.1 went well. “Your Achilles Profile” menu now sits under “Users” on the right side of your admin console if you have a blog.

If you are just registered with no blog, you can find “Your Achilles Profile” under “Profile” on the admin console.

That should be it! Please let me know if you have any problems.

I will be upgrading wordpress MU from 1.3.3 to 1.5.1 tonight at 10pm EST. (Wordpress MU is the software that runs AchillesBlog.com )

So please expect some down time tonight.

After the upgrade, please let me know if there is anything that doesn’t work, as I’ve made some changes to the core files, and it makes upgrade a bit difficult.

I thank you every day for this wonderful site. Just so you know…..

Dennis, I don’t know if everything should work by now or not - it is around 2 am in your hood… Whenever I want to access the main site I get an error message back:Fatal error: Call to undefined function achilles_loginout() in /home/valuemav/public_html/achillesblog/wp-content/themes/default/sidebar.php on line 17

Via links embedded in mails can access people’s sites and my blog as well but via IE - not. I’m not a real web guru, so if it doesn’t make sense, bear with me…
But I need to access this site, I live on these days :-) Thanks for everything, Judit

    judit -

That problem has been fixed. The upgrade is mostly done.. It’s almost 3am.

Please let me know if you see any other problems. I am aware of one bug with “Achilles Profile” tab in the command console.

I am working on fixing that.

If you see any other problems, you’ll have to let me know.. otherwise I may not catch it, and it won’t be fixed. ;)
The command console will look different now because of the upgrade.

The upgrade from 1.3.3 to 1.5.1 went fairly well. There are some problems with “Your Achilles Profile”, so you won’t be able to edit your information right now. I need to modify the plugin so that it plays nice with the new version of wordpress mu.

Other than that, everything else should work. Please let me know if you have any problems.

For those of you with blogs, your “admin panel” will look a little different now. Hopefully it’s an improvement.

    yawn! :( going to sleep..

Dennis, seems to work just fine. The world is back to normal :-)
Thanks so much for all the effort to run this site!!

Dennis, once again thanks for all the hard work!

I’m on the west coast, and I know you are on the east coast, yet it seems that any hour that I’m on the site, you are as well. Don’t you sleep?

Just another sign of your dedication to giving us all a site to help us through the recovery process.

    Thanks again,

    Craig

    Craig -

Thanks. I’ve been working on the site quite a bit past 3 days due to the upgrade, bug fixes, and enhancements. I figured that I wasn’t going have more time after this week as I am starting a new job on Monday. :)

    Tom and Craig -

Thank you for your generous donation as it really helps with the cost of running the site.

Wow, new job? Does that mean you’ve been interviewing recently? How did that process go with your ATR.

You’re far enough along that it isn’t likely as obvious to others, but I’m constantly amazed at the conversations that have sprung up when people have noticed my cast or boot.

  • 13 dennis // May 31, 2008 at 7:39 pm

    Craig -

Yes, the ATR didn’t really come up as I am walking in regular shoes. I did have some nice conversations with people on the street when I was in the boot. Especially with people who have had ankle/foot injuries, and they also had to be in crutches/boots.

I haven’t hooped on a regular basis in nearly a decade. Reading about your love for the game and recovery efforts has got me wanting to lace up the old sneaks and hit the blacktop again. Thanks.

Hi, I’ve just discovered this site through a good friend, and after seeing that everyone likes it here, I am considering opening my own blog here! Keep up the good work.
