Inspired by Marianne, here’s 2 wk post op photo. 
This is with original cast removed before staples were removed and 2nd cast applied.
Ugh. Relatively minor discomfort, I think, considering the degree of trauma in there. I was on demirol the first few days after surgery - maybe 4-5 days - then reduced to hydrocodone, then just tylenol . After the 2nd cast it was aching for a few days and these last couple of days the swelling has remained low and I haven’t had the ache. So, all in all, the wound isn’t so bad - the logistics of mobility are a much bigger headache.

I love it “Bride of Frankenstein”—good Halloween theme I’m glad I inspired you to post the pic…..i’m glad your pain and swelling has remained low…i’m still having problems with both, but then again i’m a big baby….Keep posting ATR buddy and continued good luck with your recovery.

hi sheila, u n me are more or less on the same track mine stiches were removed on 3rd july but my ortho cutted a window in the same cast n removed the stiches n then put back the cutted portion of the cast and applied doctor tape on it, it feels same as before……i ll send u images in a day or two ….take care …….bye

Marianne - I hope by now your pain and swelling have diminished. Are you back at work?
Vicky - That’s pretty funny about cutting out a little window. Sounds like a frugal doc there. Not that that’s a bad thing. keeps your foot steady, too. Do you know what protocol to expect with him/her? How many weeks before each cast change, when you will get into a boot, etc? Hope things have continued to progress smoothly for you!
