Pot not hot!
Uncategorized October 6th, 2009The pot has gone today, the consultant has discharged me and told me to start putting a little weight on the leg. He told me that the physio folks will be in touch and that was that.
Why do I always feel I should ask more, and why is it that consultants always look down into their paperwork without greeting you? (I lie, the Iraqi chap was really nice and jolly, but the English one is really dour).
Anyway all appears well so onward and upward

Congrats on your freedom! So have you gone straight into 2 shoes? Crutches? How’s it going? It’s so exciting to get out of the cast, but you soon realise there’s still a lot of work to do in strengthening etc.
Best wishes,
Sam

Yep I’m wearing 2 shoes at present, scarey stuff but equally thrilled to be able to start small exercises like rolling it back and forward on a big long ikea cylinder spongey thing!
By hell the heel feels a tad painful after standing on it after a short while though
I’m certainly taking note of yours and other pwb blogs!

Glad to hear you are out of the cast! Seems they were very eager to get rid of you….
Going straight into 2 shoes after no surgery I would be very careful for the first month. Re-ruptures happen then! Make sure you do not abuse your freedom and do not let excessive swelling to build up. Take a break from activities and rest the foot. Wear good running shoes with arch support all the time, yes your heels will tend to hurt even then. Do not end up like me! Good luck!
