Sounds very similar to how i did mine. I haven’t had surgery on mine as the hospital I went to treat it in the conservative way unless it’s a re-rupture. Hope you get on ok. I’m now 10 weeks post rupture and all seems to be going well so far.
The Injury…
“Who did that?” they were the first words i shouted after I thought I’d been kicked to the floor playing for my Sunday League Football Team.
Although it soon dawned on me that there was no one within 5 metres of me!
My Left achilles had ruptured as I’d pushed off to chase a ball down.
I’d felt my Achilles getting tighter the weeks preceeding the rupture but just put it down to hard pitches and the fact I’m not as young as I was! (atleast that what my wife keeps telling me!)
The rupture occured about 10mins into the 2nd half of a County Cup Game, so I spent the remainder of the game stood on one leg on the side of the pitch, shouting my encouragement.
Anyway we won 3-1, and after a shower and being driven home I went to Northamptons A&E………….
