Potential Warning - Cramps

A potential warning - two days before my re-rupture I had the worst cramp of my life in that calf. It is very possible it was a contributing factor. The muscles are very close and my new rupture was high above the original repair. Be very careful if you are getting any cramps. I purchased some OTC Leg Cramp pills by Hylands. That same cramp has been simmering in that calf again.

Thanks for the heads up! I got a pretty good leg cram the other noght! I was prone to them before all of this. Do you take the OTC pills as a supplement or when you get the cramp?

Thanks again,
damacar

hey guys ,

i wanna let you guys know before my ATR(im 38) , eevry time i would engage in sports where i really work hard a lot - i get cramps on my ATR calf always .ive been prone to cramps since in my 20’s and always on my L ATR calf.
i asked the doc about it but he said nothing about it.

In addition, here’s some info on food for alleviating leg cramps: http://achillesblog.com/24/nutrition/

I had some god-awful cramps right after the injury. Perhaps the worst pain I have ever felt. None for a few days now. Surgery is next week.

My question is this - what in the heck do you do if you cramp while in a cast and can’t flex the foot back and forth to try to work it out?

Tom:

After surgery I don’t think you should be cramping like before surgery. I would assume the cramp has something to do with the calf muscle not having anything pulling it down.

Hang in there my friend.
