9 weeks since the injury
Sept 18th, had fourth physio session and each time so far within 24hrs I have noticed substantial improvements. I found this session the toughest so far, to date he has been working on scar tissue on a relaxed tendon, today he pushed the toes up and worked on the scar tissue of the stretched tendon OMG the pain, I went home after and sat with my foot up for the rest of the day feeling sorry for myself but think I have a little more upward movement in my foot today but nothing as obvious as the previous improvements
Sessions are only weekly from now on and I was given 1 new exercise; to stand, feet together flat on floor, no shoes and bend knee of sore side till feel the pull and or stand barefoot and place good foot out front to stretch bad side. Under strict instructions to use both crutches and not to put full weight on bad side when walking yet but to keep using it heel to toe to try get the flexibility back into it gradually. Its all so slow……..

Hi Carol,
Yes, it is incredibly slow isn’t it? My physio insists on 2 crutches ’till I can walk without a limp! How long will that be?!!!
But I can understand why - so as to try to walk normally, with heel to toe and bending knee properly without that funny swish to the good side I do when I’m cheating. She said she doesn’t want any other hip/knee/back problems to develop from joining the Ministry of Funny Walks.
My crocs have arrived (ebay special) and the little bobbley bits underfoot feel really nice on the soles of my feet.
Have a great weekend,
Sam

I had trouble with my left knee locking for the last 2 weeks in a cast, think it was the weight of the fibreglass, mentioned it in physio and he agreed and said thats another reason to keep on the crutches to keep all in correct alignement because(I didn’t tell him) I have been feeling the knee go funny a few times when doing the shuffle hobble!
Saw a lovely pair of croc type shoes in TK Max other day but unfortunately my foot still swelling too much to wear them, they were like a shoe with a little band across the top of the foot and the sole felt like heaven and the height was perfect, I was raging. Lucky you to have got some
