4 weeks post-op

I’m 4 weeks post op from a full rupture of my right achilles as a result of a fall skiing.  Just went partial weight bearing in a Vacoped boot and am experiencing the shooting pains in my heal and some ankle ache which I understand to be all pretty normal based on what I’ve read on others blogs here.  I assume that it will get better over time as I use my foot more and more, but I’m hobbling around pretty awkwardly right now.  Curious as to the general duration of this pain?

  2. I unfortunately can’t comment on the pain, since my previous surgery was 8 years ago. But since I have another one coming up in a few weeks I was hoping you might be able to speak to how you feel about the Vacoped boot and its comfortability. I am looking to use this as my recovery boot and am curious.

Thanks, and have a speedy recovery!!

  3. Sorry to hear you’ve got to through this all again! I love the Vacoped (well, actually hate it but that’s not the boot’s fault). Seriously, it’s a great boot. It’s a little heavy, and a little warm to sleep in, but it’s super comfortable otherwise. Great support now that I’m walking around in it, and easily adjustable. I’ll sometime loosen the straps or even take off the front tongue completely if I’m just sitting around. Then I can open up the liner and let my foot breathe which feels great. I would highly recommend the Vacoped.

  4. Thanks for the feedback, I have generally heard great things about it but I thought that I’d ask anyway. I have bought one and it is on the way!
