Question about recovery after moon boot off
Hi all,
Although ATR is not a great experience, knowing you guys and being part of this blog is quite something. I had a complete ATR in my left leg on 22/Nov/08 and have been in cast for 1 moth and moon boot for 5 weeks. I just took it off on 26/Jan/09 and am able to drag my leg around.
My doctor suggested 3 more weeks taxi assistant to travel to work. However, my insurance company refuses to cover me for these 3 weeks until the doctor provides further information. Do you think that taking public transport is a wise option for me just after taking moon boot off? I feel my left tendon is very tightened and cannot raise myself using left foot.
That is my current situaton. Can you guys give me some suggestions please?

I would use boot on public transport and then take it off when you get to where you want to go.
Many of us kept the boot for “risk” areas as we transitioned to shoes. I was taking mine off and on constantly for a few weeks.

I agree with your view. I think what you say is very worthy of consideration.
It has been 2 long weeks since I had my surgery and I can honestly say that the sequence of events that immediately followed it, have been interesting to say the least. Immediately after the procedure, while I was still in the hospital, I experienced chest pains and had to be monitored closely.
I’m actually glad to see all this stuff, to see that this world offers creativity and ideas other than what my lonesome small town provides.
