6 months…
Well this Friday will mark 6 months from surgery. Crazy to think of it that way. The biggest hurdle I feel now is mental.
I am still in PT ( 1 time a week). I do all the exercises that I can at the gym 3-4 times a week.
Yesterday I was able to do 4 sets of 25 with a jump rope! Felt really good and really weird. I walked on the Treadmill for 30 minutes and did about 2 miles at around 4.0 speed and 0%incline. I did 0.10 miles at a slow jog of 4.4 mph. SUPER weird feeling for sure. I followed up yesterday with swimming 40 laps in the pool. I wanted something VERY low impact after doing what I did yesterday.
I have been having some slight discomfort around the incision. I assume this is scar tissue breaking up bc it comes and goes. I feel GREAT and fresh in the morning and by mid day and late day I am really hurting. Been icing more and trying to sit more but my job requires constant on the feet and movement. (Hopefully nothing more)
I go back to the doctor Monday, April 16 for 6 month check up. We will see what he says. ROM and calf strength are very good at the moment. My birthday is April 17th so I am HOPING and PRAYING for a birthday gift he lets me go run outside. Would love to go to the local track and run just a mile… don’t care about the pace just want to get going again.
The worst thing the last couple weeks is my other foot is ABSOLUTELY killing me. They are going to XRAY again monday to see how much the spur has grown in 6 months, but unfortunately I know what lies ahead of me.
