The world’s biggest staple remover.
Yee-haw! The staples came out yesterday! I was hoping to see the tool the doctor used to take the staples out. I assumed it looks like a…staple remover. But I was on my belly and it happened really fast.
The boot is adjusted to 0 degrees. I was hoping to get the okay to swim, but alas, the doctor said no go.
He did mention that it was okay to go partial to full weight bearing and to go down to one crutch if possible. Does anyone have a schema to do this?
And does this mean I can ride a stationary bike?? (It would be awesome if the answer was yes.)
Wherever you are…enjoy your Friday!

Hi Wes, glad to have another CF fan join and so sorry you ruptured your Achilles! I never mastered the one crutch. At 6 weeks or so, when the wedge came out of my boot I ditched the crutches, except when sans boot as home.
I have done 2 modified WODs this week. Yesterday I did a mix of V sits, rowing, HS push-ups ( modified with good leg on box and boot crossed behind and modified bridges (one leg). The WOD earlier in the week was mix OD aerodyne bike. Ring pulls on one leg and push ups on one leg.
I was not cleared to bike until 7 weeks with heels on pedals. I rowed with two egs in parallel and my healing foot sliding on seat OD spare erg. There is a picture on my blog. Be well.
I am afraid I may have pushed too hard. I will see Monday when I go to OS.
cheers Sally

I hated using one crutch. I borrowed a cane, but I dropped that after a day or two, good riddance.
I’d probably wait for FWB before using the stationary bike, and start with the boot on.

Congrats Wessulivan,
I had my 20 staples removed on Tuesday, and it was great to have that pain gone. I started PWB with 2 crutches at first and after 2 days went to 1. However, it will leave your heel and the bottom of your foot sore, so go slow and be careful. From what I understand, you can ride a S-Bake at 7-8 weeks, and should be in 2 shoes at 10 weeks or so. After my staples came out, the doc moved me from 20 to 10, and wants me at 0 in 2 weeks.
Check out some of the protocols on my last post:

Good luck and I wish you a quick recovery.
