6 weeks….
Today makes exactly 6 weeks since rupture, and 5 weeks since surgery. I actually can’t even believe that much time has passed already. I miss tennis immensely, but I’ve been doing really well with PT and, if it continues how it has been, the coming weeks are looking really good (knocks on wood). I did my second PT today with both sneakers on and my therapist seems a bit surprised that I haven’t had any pain, soreness or swelling on my “rest” days. My ROM gets better and better with every day, and today I actually added the laying squat machine and one-leg balance exercises (which i struggled with the first few reps) to my regiment. All in all I remain pretty patient and positive about what’s to come. Happy Healing!

Excellent! Sounds like you’re on track to relatively speedy recovery.
I sure hope so
Wow! Very encouraging! I’m at 4 1/2 weeks post surgery. But, my doc is more conservative, so I’m not starting PT for another 2 weeks (exercising on my own, for now, to get some ROM back).
Congrats to you! Sounds like you’re doing great! I hope my PT goes nearly as well. Keep up the good work!
This is very encouraging, congrats! This Thursday is my 6 week mark from my ATR surgery, I have been in a cast since surgery & get if off this week into a boot (I cant wait)…
I hope I will be able to ditch the crutches soon.
Have you started walking on your own yet?
@eric Good luck with your PT, but yes it is very good that you have started to do some of your own exercises. My physical therapist really seems to believe that my keeping active throughout the whole thing has really helped me with PT.
@mitch I know the feeling! That cast really started to irritate the hell out of me those last few days. I have been walking on my own (with a boot) for about a week. My PT seems to believe that I’ll be out of the boot altogether by the beginning of next week.
Happy Healing guys!
