    Has anyone tried using an exercise bike with the boot on , how long did you wait to do it and how was it? Thanks

    @Tommy

    I tried using a standard stationary bike at the gym from about week 3 post-op. Not very successful in the beginning, as my swelling would not allow me to have my foot down for more than 5-10 minutes at the time. But it works good if you are not bothered by excess swelling and pressure/pain in your foot.

    I strapped the boot to the pedal with the pedal as far towards my heel I could manage. The instructor helped me to ‘customize’ the straps a little, to let the boot fit in.

    But I had much more success with a rowing machine during that time. I only started to use the bike more frequently (1-2 times a week) from about week 6 or 7, if I remember well. And then with a shoe rather than the boot.

    If you experience a lot of muscle atrophy in your thighs, one-foot biking is a good excercise to rebuild muscle!

    Happy healing!

    Thanks. How did you get on the seat?
