Just a few days from walking in the Big Sur Marathon
Weather has been fantastic here in the Monterey area…How bitter sweet, you know how great to feel the sun on your skin but at the same time wistfully sighing at the roads that lead to the beautiful trails in the area, the trails you can only daydream of for the moment.
For now I’ll have to make due with some still pretty outstanding stuff, tho shadows of what truly makes me happy…Working a lot, walking & able to do most nonathletic undertakings…

Awesomely sunny, hard not to be optimistic right now. I can deal with lugging my boot around every work day…

Ok, let’s get on with the update…I have my scheduled follow up with my doc on Friday, going to surprise him with the news that I plan on participating in the marathon, of course this will be after he checks me out…Hoping he has nothing but good things to say about my progress…I’ve had no discernible pain other than a touch of soreness, there’s only been minor swelling after work and treadmill. I’ve taken it easy since my power walk last week, was really moving 11 1/4 miles sub 2 1/2 hrs…Starting to have those fun butterflies in my stomach leading up to the race…Working at Spyglass Hill GC tomorrow for a client then it’s time for the Docs appt & the race expo! I’ll update after that…Relying on Jesus, he’s never let me down…I may have to go through things like an ATR, life’s not perfect but the Lord is and he’s never failed to lead me through the Valley’s of my life! I just hope I can bring Him glory in whatever I do as imperfectly as I do those things!
God Bless all, looking forward to surmising the race. Good healing.

P.S. Tearing this boot up on the road & treadmill…Guessing they’re not built for speed…But anyway EBay to the rescue. Snagged an air cam boot…sounds awesome having the air pump for compression.
Wish I’d gone this route in the first place. Bought this one for about $30. 1st boot ran me @$120.
My suggestion to anyone that’s looking to buy one explore EBay or even Craigslist before shelling out the big bucks…Almost sprang for the camouflage boot but this air pump one sounded to comfy.

Pablo thanks!
Went to the Doc yesterday. He said that he was very happy! I was told that my tendon in 2 1/2 months is where he would expect someone 6 months out to be! Thank you Jesus…
Doc says he’s clearing me for work w/out the boot, tho I’m planning on using it a bit longer just to be safe. Full clearance for as much cycling as I’d like. He’d like me to hold off on any running ’til at least June 1st, which is kosher with me.
Almost didn’t tell him that I was planning to walk the Marathon but I heard he was going to be manning the medical tent at the finish line…When I told him I’d see him there and stop in to say hello after the event he didn’t even blink and as he laughingly wish me well!
So happy I get to see a few of my friends that I’ve been missing…They’re elites so I’ll only get to hang with them before the race but it is going to be sooo Exciting!
One last note before I sign off and try to get some sleep (have to get up at 2:30 am, busing us in @4am), I’ve seemingly only gained 3-4 lbs…Yet when I put on the singlet I wanted to wear I noticed the shift in where I used to wear that weight, lol…So I’ll be rocking a looser fitting Zoot half sleeve shirt
Picked me up a little spare tire…Still 157lbs isn’t too bad. I blame it all on the spaghetti and Mexican Food I’ve shoveled away these last couple of weeks! All the more reason I need to start running again soon!
God bless all keep the faith we’re all going to get to the places we are supposed to be…Pray & Praise! But remember faith without works is dead…I’ll throw down a very short race report either Sunday eve or Mon.
