3 weeks Post Op - Stitches Removed
Exactly 3 weeks after surgery, the stitches were removed. Doctor had me push on his hand with the ball of my foot and was surprised how hard I can push. He gave me the OK to remove the boot and start moving my foot up, down, and left and right to break up scar tissue and help with flexibility. He still wants me NWB for 3 more weeks,( playing it safe IMO). Foot and ankle feel great, I am almost confident that at the 6 week mark, I will be able to ditch the crutches and walk with the boot on. I have almost full control of my calf muscle on my left leg. I am able to flex it without any pain. I am good ROM on the ankle. I am still going to take it easy, but doctor said I am doing well and am progressing ahead of schedule. He attributed it to being younger, staying fit, and proper diet. 3 more weeks, wish me Luck!!!

Hey tkdco, that’s great news, sounds like you’ve been really careful in your recovery. There’s a blood flow stimulator which I used for a badly (and repeatedly) sprained ankle, it’s good for all soft tissue injury which helped me heal really quick. It brings oxygen and nutrients to the ankle loosening it up and feeding it what it needs to recover. I highly recommend checking this out: http://www.kingbrand.com/Ankle_Injury_Pain.php?REF=52PV25
Good luck with your recovery!
