Damn! My Foot Stinks

It’s summer and my foot is in a hot neoprene boot for most of the day and things are gettin’ ripe. I’ve been using some sneaker spray to air out the boot, but I think the smell is kinda stuck in there. Even when I have the boot off I can smell my foot, so I have to look for some stronger soap. I felt so sorry for the poor PA taking my stitches out the other day…I guess she’s used to it.

AT After Stitches

I got my stitches taken out today. Figured I get a few pics and a video. Here’s the link for the video: You’ll have to cut and paste it.

Let’s just say that I’m trying to “embrace” the ATR and look at it as a bit of a novelty. The best part of the whole experience is that in 3 weeks, I get the boot off , move to 2 shoes, and start PT. Something to look forward to!

I have been having some weird pains in different parts of my leg (hamstring, quad). They are almost like muscle spasms and they last for about 5 to 10 seconds. Not too painful and not too often; just weird. I have noticed that overall, my discomfort is less with the actual AT itself, but the leg is just really weak. The ankle and knee both feel “a little off” and my toes sometimes hurt. It seems as if the entire leg was affected by the ATR. I guess this makes sense considering the  nature of the injury. I was thinking “Damn, this injury REALLY jacked me up!”

I decided to get a temporary handicap permit, seeing as how I will getting around rather slowly for  a while. Good for the next 6 months. Turning that obstacle into an opportunity….
