Today was my 12th physical therapy session and it consisted of more walking in 2 shoes, riding the stationary bike, walking backwards on the treadmill, work on the leg press machine and calf raises at a low weight. My therapist added lunges today with the forward foot on a 8" block and one hand on a parallel bar. My therapist came up with another new exercise for me. He had me stand on the foot with my ATR (right foot) on a 1" thick pad, lightly hold on to the parallel bar with my left hand then touch three 12" high traffic cones that were in front of me with my right foot. I had to do 2 sets of 20 reps each of those. Then he had me stand on my right foot on the 1" pad and hold it for 10 seconds while encouraging me to place more weight on the toes of my right foot.
A while back my therapist told me that basis of physical therapy was discovered during the Spanish Inquisition when they found that the victims would feel better just before the bones break. I’m starting to believe him.
He said there was a noticeable increase in my confidence based on the way I was attacking the exercises. There were 2 big milestones today. The first was that I was able to drive myself to and from the location. The second is that he told me that I no longer had to use the crutches in the house while walking in the house in 2 shoes. He did say though that I was not yet ready to do the stairs without the boot.

Good job! Sounds like it’s coming along nicely! Keep up the at-home exercises, too - they are a pain, but they really do help you get better faster!
