Trail Run Pictures

WOW - Mosquito Hill is really big hill! Especially when you run up the steep side and they just put down 4 inches of wood chips. Tom & I ran the hill and then continued down to the river and back. 2.5 miles and now I’m spending some quality time with my ice pack. I’ve got a long ways to go to get back to full speed but I’m getting closer.

Beautiful! I’d have to travel hours to find a hill that steep. (we’re on the coast here). Enjoy!

That’s amazing! I am 20 weeks post op and can’t imagine being able to run that trail. I can walk without a limp finally, and I am back to kickboxing, so that’s good enough for me! For now, anyway. That’s a beautiful trail!

Skutr– beautiful! Looks like a fun trail :)
I “snuck” a few minutes of running into my 6+ mile trail hike yesterday–just on the smoothest and flatest single track I could find. I have great respect for that downhill photo you posted! I have always loved the downhills the most, ( and my pre-op bummy AT made the uphills hurt anyway) but right now I am finding the “downs” more challenging than the “ups” even just walking. Sigh…I can’t wait to get back to real trail running. Thanks for posting!

Jennifer - I’m happy to hear that you’re back to kickboxing. I run every day, kickbox 3 days & karate 2 days each week. Keep pushing the limits & you’ll be surprised at what you cando.

Eastcostrunner - that’s exactly how I started running again because walking got boring. I put together a beginning running plan that started with me running 40 paces-walk 100 paces-stretch-repeat. Each week I increased the running by 20 paces & decreased the walking by 20. I’m in week 6 of the program and my stamina and strength has increased dramatically. FYI - I count every time my ATR foot hits the ground.
