Have you tried running yet? I took it easy and gave some holidays to my leg but from January I am cleared for jumping etc… still gathering courage for it. Though yesterday I half started to run when I saw 2 squirrels raiding the bird feeder.
At my last PT appointment before Christmas (Dec 16th) I did some gentle jogging on the spot and a little jumping and hopping. But no I haven’t tried running properly yet. I am able to walk pretty quickly without a limp now and, like you, have broken into a little trot for brief moments.
Tendon and calf muscles always need extra stretching first thing in the morning and a few stretches if I’ve been sitting for a while - lots of family stuff going on recently so many car journeys to stiffen me up and take time away from my exercise.
I have physio again on Jan 6th and hope to have more time thereafter for some real aerobic exercise in addition to my usual physio exercises and spot on the Wii Fit.
6 months post-op tomorrow. Perhaps I’ll take some more photos. Can manage some single calf raises using the kitchen worktop or similar for balance/support.
Good luck with the more explosive exercises.
Take care,
Sam
