Achilles Question
Just had surgery forĀ a partial tear sustained, also had to have a lengthening done. NWB for at least 2 months. Howerver, I accidentally stepped on it the other day, and it hurt so bad well I got sick. How do you know if you hurt it more and need to get it checked out? The pain has lessened but still there. I hadnt had pain since a few days after the surgery so i am a little worried. Also I get my stitches out soon, does it hurt?
I had the same question when I lost balance and stood on the big toe of my operated foot 2 weeks post-op. I finally forced my surgeon to give me an MRI script.
If you are really worried, I would suggest you do the same thing. Supposedly, MRI is gives a prfetty accurate diagnosis.
That said, I hope it is just a little scare - a warning to be careful untill you fully recover
Good luck
Well, I have read some people on here said it hurt like the Dickens when they got their stitches out- but I got mine out last week and it didn’t hurt one bit. So go in positive. And don’t WATCH. I looked away the whole time. Don’t forget to take your camera for the obligatory “picture of my sutures” blog entry
MY PT said that non weight baring I should not have any pain.
Nerve zaps aside whatever pain I have should be not there when at rest.
My husband had his stitches removed last week. I had read folks here say it hurt like crazy, so I was braced for his OUCH but he didn’t even blink. He later said there was a tiny feeling of tugging with the first stitch (no pain), then he didn’t feel a thing.
