Sore Calf

I have been PWB for a little over a week and very top of my calf behind my knee has been sore for a couple days.  Did anyone else experience a sore calf when transitioning from NWB to PWB?

Pre-injury Question

With all the time I have to sit around and do nothing, I starting thinking (and yes it did hurt a bit).  My AT started to bother me about 1 week before I ruptured it.  A friend of mine who ruptured his 8 years ago just told me he had pain for about a month before he blew his.

The question I have for everyone out there is did everyone have discomfort in their AT prior to rupturing it?

6 days post op

Hello fellow ATR patients, I am 6 days post op and feeling well.  I didn’t get my percocets until the freezing had worn off and I couldn’t believe the amount of pain.  After day 4 I ran out of the perc’s and I haven’t been in too much pain.  The worst is the physical limitations of crutches.  I think my wife is going to kill me every time she heads out to cut the grass, or if I ask her to make me something to eat.  Needless to say I can’t wait to have a fire and burn mu crutches, although they are aluminum I don’t think I will get the same effect as the good old wood ones.  I guess I am just frustrated hobbling around feeling helpless.

On the road to Recovery

Sunday June 27 2010 will forever change my life.  I was playing men’s rec baseball and after smashing an easy double down the left field line I was rounding first base and heard a "POP" and I went down like a sac of potatoes.  Lucky for me I had a cooler full of ice and a few beers left from a party the night before.  One of my team mates brought the cooler to the dugout so I could ice my ankle.  I had a hard time driving my standard Jeep home, but learned in a hurry how to drive without the clutch.  Went to the ER in Orangeville and it was going to be a 3 hour wait and since I was not in very much pain I decided to wait until Mon morning to see my Family Dr.  He sent to the ER in Brampton as he said it would be the ER Dr. who would refer me to the Ortho Surgeon.  The Er Dr. performed the "Thompson Test"  and there is no movement in my left foot.  Ortho app. is tomorrow and I am not too sure what to expect.
