5 years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello all,
Well as the title says I am now 5 years post rupture. My ankle is still a bit stiff but not enough to hinder me.
Worryingly my ‘good’ achilles is showing signs of tendinitis (which is how all my problems began before). Not really sure what to do I certainly don’t want to go down the steroid injection route (disaster last time) so any advice will be welcome
All the best everyone.

Hello Richard,
I’m at 38 wks post op and my injury also started with tendonitis/osis and steroid injection(s) for bursitis. Recently I started a walk/run progression and I can definitely feel it in my ‘good’ achilles. Like you, I don’t want another ATR. What I’m doing is all the PT exercises on both sides and I have been doing that since I started PT after surgery. I also massage the ‘good’ achilles and ice when I can feel any tightness there. My PT thinks its just the soft tissue responding and not to over do things. If you are in doubt, I would consult with your doctor and possibly get an ultrasound to rule things out.
Best of luck to you & keep us posted!

Happy Achilles Day to you!! Rumour has it City’s young Reece Wabara may be joining you at Leeds,.
And, just by way of co-incidence I too am having trouble with my Achilles (the repaired one) it has become very tight and my heel hurts all the time. I’ve done nothing either too scared!!
How’s it in your neck of the woods, we are scortched, Martin went to watch Lancashire CC this week but only managed a couple of hours each day because it was too hot.
