Sleeping soundly tonight

Tonight I’m sleeping without my boot!!

Went to physio tonight, 10 weeks 3 days and I took my first step/limp without my boot!! Have been given new weight bearing exercises out of boot, and can now get on the bike!! So excited.

I am surprised at how much easier it is to put weight through my leg than I first thought but still very cautious, I’m so hesitant in case I rerupture! I think I’ve been the opposite of most and over cautious.

I wonder what runners people have chosen as a good option as I think I will buy some new shoes.

I will still be in boot for work, but crutches and 2 shoes at home. I see the light!!!

Nice milestone… Sleeping without a boot!!
Are you treating yourself to some new running shoes? I always swore by http://www.asics.co.uk/
(I ruptured my achilles while wearing shoes made by a ‘lesser’ manufacturer.. :-))
Enjoy your new freedom!!!

So pleased that you can see the light. I am a week behind you but non-op and have been cautious as well. I did not think it was possible to walk slower than a snail. I don’t feel competitive about it at all, as long as I don’t re-rupture.
My physio suggested trainers (asics) or fitflop shoes. I thought I would be better in shoes for work so I bought some.
I don’t think I would ever spend that amount of money on a pair of shoes that look like this, but they feel very good and I feel very safe. I fact I was 3 days off 2 shoes when I bought them and then did not put the boot back on.
