Good bye boot

Just got in from latest check up and have got the all clear for 2 shoes :-) very happy at how things have gone and are going, I’m going to start a strength program for the next month and get this leg to a point where I can do weighted squats in 4 weeks (Dr’s instruction)

We went over a few exercises today he asked me to do some seated HR, 2 leg and 1 leg and managed all of them but only 2 of the single leg raise’s but he was really happy.
My walking without boot is just about perfect just a slight limp, I have been practicing this for the last 7-8 days in bare feet.

Happy healing all!!!

  1. Congrats! Stretch, stretch, stretch. I am at about 17 weeks and I still do a lot of stretching of the tendon. Tightness aways returns after a day of walking around.

  2. Congratulations! I’m almost at 12 weeks and continue to feel better and stronger every day! It sounds like you are having a strong recovery!

  3. Very nice! Getting rid of the boot is a big milestone
Take it easy for the first few days. The strength takes time to come back fully and there are so many movements that need to be learned all over again. Congratulations!

  4. I did NOT stretch aggressively that early, and would wait another month. I’d also hesitate to do any exercise I could only do 2 or 3 of. 8 reps is my rule of thumb when I’m not injured, and 10 or 12 is probably prudent when you are.
