First Update April 1, 2008

I may be a little late but still…I’m a 22 year old college student. I ruptured my left Achilles tendon on February 8th 2008 while playing basketball. I was backpedalling when I heard a sudden ‘POP’ followed by that tumbling drum sound resounding throughout my body. Needless to say, I knew exactly what it was. I was operated on February 15th. The first few days were agonizing since I had to go to school the following week (I had midterms), but thankfully, the pain disappeared a week later.

Following the op, I had been in a splint for 3 weeks, before they put me in a full fiberglass cast. I’ve now had the cast for 4 weeks. Tomorrow, I’m going in to get my cast removed. I’ll give you all a detailed update tomorrow.

Patrick -
It looks like we injured our achilles on the exact same day, playing the exact same sport. My surgery date was 11th though.
Good luck on your appointment tomorrow. Hopefully you’ll go into a boot.

I’ve setup your achilles timeline.
