Thanks Isjoberg... If I may ask, what type of compression sleeve was it that you used? Nylon or neoprene, something like that? Also, after wearing it for some time, did you feel like your ankle was finally able to function normally without it - i.e. flex & extend without pain at ankle bone?

Thanks,

I struggled with pain on the outside of the ankle for several weeks after I started PT on the ATR. eventually I bought a compression sleeve for the anke and that got me back on track, keep in mind that everything else around the achilles will be very, very weak and getting your mechanics back to "normal" can take several months. I am now at just about 17 months post-surgery and the "bad" side ankle is still only about 90% withouth the added support.

I have the same issue in my left ankle on calf raises been 8 months with tendonosis in a boot now 3 weeks no surgery as yet but might be needed. It could simply be the bones and such adjusting as u do more have u had a recent MRI on it? I have some strained ligaments from ankle sprains and a mild lesion on the talar joint bone but no fracture that might be causing mine. does it resolve after warming up? Also instead of a heel wedge consider getting fitted for custom orthotics if u r pronating that could align things better and help with pain.
