What socks to wear with the Boot?
Questions- What socks do you where with the Bledsoe boot????
My foot feels like it on fire from being so hot. I have socks that I got when they gave me the aircast to wear prior to surgery. But they are really thick. And I do have one of the anti-embolism socks. But that is way too tight.
Thoughts on Socks???

i dont know that a bledsoe boot is, i had a CAM boot. I wore a surgical sock that was really thin for a few weeks then i sent into the matching sock that my left foot had on after like 4 weeks.

I have an Aircast FP Walker. They didn’t give me a sock or mention needed one. Didn’t take long to undertand a sock is highly desiered. Did read where it is necessary to clean it with warm water and vinager some detergent and rise with cold warter and use sponge.
I was told if you can sleep without getting it caught in the covers you could be successful not sleeping in the boot. How contious are we of covers when sleeping? I tried it once and couldn’t sleep because I worried it woudl get caught. I’m on day 5 wearing the Aircast “boot”.

Harris, this post is from 16 months ago!
I had an Aircast Walker for most of this rehab (2nd ATR, non-surgical this time), but I’m not sure about the FP part. I went sock-less for the first couple of weeks, then started wearing knee socks or ski socks once I got strong enough and gutsy enough to (CAREfully!) shove my injured leg into a sock!
I also peeled the foam-and-Velcro liner out of the Aircast once or twice and washed it in a bucket of water and detergent.
I slept in my boot for maybe 5 weeks. If you’re nervous about the covers, you could untuck them all, so they can’t easily entrap your foot. Another hazard of sleeping bootless is that your calf muscle will tend to contract, so stretching it out in the morning could be uncomfortable and possibly even hazardous, combined with WB. After neither of those things bothers your sleep, you’re probably ready!
Start a blog of your own, and let’s discuss this there.

Just had cast removed today & was put into an air cam boot up to just below knee.
Dr.’s office only told me to use a cane on
opposite side. Took it off when I returned home & it was full of dead skin dust !
( had to vacume it out ). Finally was able to soak in tub. Wonderfull after six weeks in a
cast. Yes, now I use a tube sock & it feels
very comfirtable. I don’t understand why they did not tell me about this when they
first put it on! Next visit in 3 weeks & I am
going to suggest they give the patient a more thurough explaination. That was not
right & could be potentially harmfull for proper healing time. Hope this info is helpfull to you.
