Well I managed to make my way out on the ice tonight and skate with my daughter! My therapist had given me the go ahead for some leisurely skating, but had to promise no hockey. I manage to skate for about 15 minutes and then started to feel my ankle starting to get sore and decided that I better not push it! I still feel that skating at 8 weeks is a great accomplishment and a great step forward. Walking without a limp has no quite been accomplished, but it is getting easier! Baby steps eventually get us where we want to go!

Well, you KNOW I had to comment on this post :-) Congratulations!! BTW, you beat me to it :-) I didn’t skate until 10 weeks.

Every step forward is a great one. Congrats and keep it up. Skating sounds so far away. I wasn’t a fan before my issues. Can’t imagine the feeling so soon after surgery. I am on a slower track, but I am looking at my doctors calendar and I should be out of my boot in time for my daddy daughter dance in February.

Thanks guys……Hard to believe that I am actually ahead of you Ryan for something! LOL! Some of us Canadians are almost born with skates on, so I wasn’t really worried about falling. Efrain, so glad to hear that you are getting better! I have no doubt that you will make your daddy-daughter dance!

SInce I grew up in Calgary, I can’t claim that as a handicap ;-) Again, well done! Sounds like you’re making really great progress.
