Sleep has been an issue for me as well…. I have a hard time falling asleep, so i went ahead and downloaded a sleep relaxation meditation onto my ipod and listen to that, which helps me unwind….. I also am up early, eat something, read the paper, check this site and then try to nap which breaks up the morning. Sounds pathetic, but it works for me….otherwise the day is long and my leg is really swollen by evening…..i would try napping with some sort of relaxation method to listen to..
Hope it works for you.

I used to crutch up and down my street to poop myself out.

yep, same problem here in the beginning, until i got a wheelchair to walk the dog. then i was able to wear myself out which released those important endorphins (mood enhancers) i found i slept better, wasn’t as blue, and was generally more pleasant to be around, although girlfriend might disagree. take it easy. offdibb

Sleep is a REAL issue for me too. Although I am tired, I can’t seem to “quiet my mind” at night and I toss and turn. I am up early too. The boot is also heavy and awkward. However, I can nap during the day…weird…so that is my secret weapon for coping.
Good luck to you.

initially i would have a hard time sleeping up past 5am. Once i got up at 3 and was wide eyed. Ugh. I really think its the painkillers-when it wears out, your body wakes up. I stopped the painkillers and was able to sleep 12-14 hours.
