I lost balance while standing on one foot and landed on the big toe of the operated foot.
Luckily, my doctor was out of the country until the following Monday and the covering doctor assured me that I should just weight and see my surgeon first thing Monday morning.
My doctor did not seem too concerned when I finally got a hold of him on Monday afternoon. We finally met on Tusday 2 pm - 5 days after my fall. The doctor could not tell if I re-ruptured my Achilles or not as I had swelling around my ankle.
Doctor decided that I would need to wait 10 more days before I can see him. At that point he would examine my foot again, and then he might order an MRI to confirm what had happened.
So, I have an appointment on Dec 3 - 14 days from the original fall. I dont know what to do now.

Stiches are off, but so is the splint. Doctor wraped my leg with the foot pointed down using the ACE wrap. “This is just to keep the swelling down. No weight bearing.”
I was terrified - what if I do something to my foot? And, of course, I did.

Had my first post-op visit. Apparently, I have a splint that is supporting the back of my leg and my foot. It is tied to my leg with an ACE wrap. I thought I was going to get a cast. Doctor wants to see me in 1 week to take off the stiches.

Had my surgery. It lasted about 1 hour and the doctor confirmed a complete tier. I was put under and also had a sciatic block, so I basically felt nothing.
My husband and friends threw me a party for my 45th bday. Tood bad I could not dance, but it was great to see everybody. My leg began swelling, but I did not have any major pain.

Got home the night before and began looking for a doctor. A good friend reccomended a surgeon who was supposedly really experienced and would be able to get me in quickly. Looking back, I should have probably spent more time finding the right doctor. Back then, however, it I though that time was of the essence. Had surgery scheduled for November 4th.

It was the last day of our Club Med vacation and life was perfect. My husband had just finished his doubles match and I was getting ready to join him. Few more balls … I was backing up to get the high ball when I heard the nasty POP. I thought I hit something with the back of my hill, but when I turned around there was good half of the court behind me. That was the moment I will always remember.
