Am a 34 year old in Wellington, New Zealand and tore my achilles playing football. Usually pretty active, especially regarding mountain biking. I am taking the conservative approach to healing and have my fingers crossed everything will go as smoothly as possible (although I do expect a long road ahead).

Ah, found you. I responded on my page so hope you can find that. I meant to also say, lots of people on here were riding much earlier than me, on the road at least. I was just so EXHAUSTED I coudn’t even comprehend doing so for the first couple of months.

Do try to retain some leg muscle BTW, leg lifts etc if you can, because its shocking how fast the quads and glutes go and how long it takes to get them back!!

I was road biking in my boot, <8 weeks post-non-op this time, and bootless after 8 (or maybe 9) weeks. I ride MTBs, but only in the city, not a real one leg calf raises mtbrider.
