Arnica Gel?
I had a co worker stop by my desk yesterday and suggest the use of arnica gel as a topical anti inflammatory. I looked it up and for $10 at Walgreens I thought i would give it a shot.
It is advertised to reduce swelling, muscles stiffness and bruising. I applied it twice during the day yesterday.
today I woke up to find my ankle feeling pretty great with minimal swelling. This part wasn’t all that phenomenal to me because it feels pretty good every morning. But the bruising was visibly less. I didnt take a before pic so I don’t have any hard evidence to compare, but i did take one this morning . I will take another photo in a couple of days to shoe the difference.
Anyone have luck with this gel?
This afternoon is my first session of PT…Fingers crossed.

Hi Mike,
My antispam word is “optimism”! ha ha!! I think we all should keep our minds open to anything worthy by proof or not that we use for our recovery. I have not used this Anicare Gel by Walgreens, but do have experience to share about my maggage therapist using Anica she infused in her massage oils. I had a terrible time with tight hamstrings at around 10 months and started weekly massages and kept it up for 3 months. Always have and still am good about stretching and rolling out my tight, tired and sore muscles with my foam roller. My #1 friend is my foam roller and I’ve posted before about it’s benefits. My massage therapist gave me a bottle of her “Anica Magic Potion” to take home after my 3 months of treatments and I think it was wonderful! This recovery is a personal thing I do believe. What works for one may not work for another. As long as you are sure something will not cause harm I don’t think the Anicare Gel is a bad thing. But that is just my opinion. Take care and embrace this recovery as “your own”.

Thanks for the boost Doryt. I also am a big fan of the faom roller, my wife and I have 2 that we use religiously pre and post injury. I’m going to continue using the gel. It did seem to have some antiinflammatory effect, so I will at least use the rest of the tube.
