mhildy--we are about in the same time frame, as I had my surgery on 11.18 and got my staples out on 11.25. I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WOULD BE STAPLES. Lol...that just kind of freaked me out. I don't have a cast or anything, just a splint that goes from my toes to my high shin, and only on the top...nothing in back. There seems to be risk of me smacking the newly repaired Achilles on something, but oh well. The good news is I can shower with nothing at all on the foot, the bad news is showering (and general mobility) is limited more now with no cast at all as I can't use the foot for as much bracing/balance, particularly in said showers! I am on the 10 day plan though too, with a reevaluation there and possible CAM boot at that time. I am also expected to exercise plantar flexion as much as possible and the other way (can't remember what that is called) too, just not "too" far up. It feels good to move it.

Anway congrats on your progess!

mhildy - glad that you've figured out how to add the image. Looks like your marathon tracker isn't working right though. This has to do with the theme you are using. I'll have to make some code changes to get it to display the red circle right for this particular theme.. Give me a few days. :)

Hi Dee,

Yeah, I am stoked about how the incision looks. I'm immobilized for another three weeks or so, so no rehab until then. In the mean time though, I am going to do everything I can for the rest of my body. No use letting the whole system waste away.

As for posting the pic, I actually was going to ask you some advice on getting a gallery up. Maybe Dennis could help us out. To post an image in your next, there is a little icon above where you are typing that allows you to insert an image. It's a little convoluted though. I think I did it the hard way. I have some more good pics, I just someone to let me know how to get up a thumbnail gallery.

Thanks again Dee.

Oh my gosh! Your incision looks great! Mine looks absolutely horrible! I tooK some pics of it but with my phone which I haven't downloaded yet, but I will so you can see how crooked mine is and I have a large bruise on the side of my foot too. Mine looks to be the same length as yours I just got the cast removed & stitches cut out this last Friday. I've been given a boot where I can put some weight on it but not all. Wow! I'm still shocked at how good your foot looks. I'll be back in a few minutes w/the pic of mine. I would also be interested in what your doctor gives you for the exercise stuff. I'm really bored of crunches & other floor exercises. Well anyway have a safe trip & have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
