Let’s do this again, shall we?

From a partial rupture repair, to healing, to another rupture

1 step forward, 2 steps back. Or so it seems.

I gave up on Marathon training, had to stop cardio.

I’m tight, I’m stiff and I have to admit it is all my own damn fault.
It hurts and I don’t want to make it hurt more.

I did start acupuncture last week in the hopes it would help the recovery.

My surgery anniversary is coming up on October 3rd, I signed up for an easy 5k on the 26th of September.
Have not done any training.

I’m so conflicted!

Have you had physical therapy? It really did wonders for me. There’s still some tightness and even downright pain sometimes and some remaining internal adhesion, but all things considered it isn’t too bad. A good therapist really does help, but you also have to do a fair amount of rehab on your own. What I was getting mainly were exercises to do on my own and massaging the tendon which I cannot do as effectively as Jon can because he has a different angle and can get more leverage. Don’t give up, start slowly although I know it’s hard and just keep at it. Yes it will hurt for a while but like a lot of athletic training, the pain comes with the territory and eventually it quits hurting.

I recommend swimming - it makes my foot feel sooo much more comfortable. I wonder if hurt is natural at all: I had pain in the foot due to weakness probably, but never in the tendon after surgery. Maybe you should take it slower: walking instead of running?
