Das Boot - 4 Weeks Post Op.

November 13th, 2008

This past Monday was my second post op visit and they put me in a CAM boot.  I was pretty elated to hear I was going to take the split cast off after 4 weeks. The leg atrophy quite a bit and my calf was very flabby and squishy. I went to physical therapy the same day.  It was pretty surreal not being able to move my foot.  I never imagined this — reading the blog gave me some insight as to what to expect but seeing it for myself is pretty surreal.

Good luck to everyone out there.

Agh, my foot actually grossed me out. It reminded me of my 86 yr. grandmother’s foot. It was all scaly and purplish. :(
Maybe later today… I’ll take a picture to post.

    Hi.
I started PT two weeks ago and like you, I found not being able to move my foot a little freaky! But I just did the exercises I was told to do, and after 11 days I could move my foot much, much more (it got to 98 degrees last Monday) - so don’t worry, you’ll see improvement really soon.
