It all started with Peritonitis’. Doctors thought I had pneumonia for a couple of months before I got deathly ill. During this time I took 3 rounds of Medicine. I was on every strong antibiotics of several kinds for almost 4 weeks after surgery. It was right after this that the right heel started bothering me. I started walking a little strange because of the pain. Two years passed and the pain was getting unbearable. I went to an Orthopedic Doctor who x-rayed and put me in a boot for 6 weeks. During this time the heel felt great but as soon as the boot came off the pain came back. I started Tai Chi thinking the extra stretching would help my heel. I fell in love with Tai Chi and MMA but it didn’t help my heel. I continued my activities with the pain for another year and achieved my Green Belt. I suffered with it till October 2012 when I went another Orthopedic. I made the decision then that I was not going to spend another year this way. On November 21 I had open Achilles surgery. I am 65 years old and I want to get back to my MMA. My goal is to obtain my Black Belt!
