Third surgery completed

November 27th, 2012

Hi all,

I just had my third surgery yesterday. What a saga. Every time I go back to the fracture clinic the technicians are so supportive and say what a trooper. I have been hobbling in there since the beginning of July. I am hoping that this surgery is third time lucky and I never have to go back for more. My wound was open and starting to get infected. The surgeon did a debridement and took out the internal stitches that were at the surface and kept poking out of my skin. The surgeon says the tendon looks good though it is weak after so much stitching etc and I have to be CAREFUL. No worries. I am not running anywhere. In 2 weeks I hope to be back in the boot. In the meantime, I am in a splint cast. I am looking into something called Purple Rice which is supposed to do wonders for cell repair. And I am going to rent a knee walker to have a little variety and more mobility in my life. Déjà vu all over again.
