iWalkFree - Indeed

I will start with a semi apology: this is not an infomercial although it might look like one.
I just received my iWalkFree 3 hours ago, and it is great.
I called the company and left a message on Sunday, got a callback from the inventor on Monday morning, and received the delivery on Tuesday afternoon. Tic-Tack-Toe.

    Scary, very scary. I can totally relate having had a vivid dream one night about slipping while going down stairs several days after surgery. Glad that the verdict was no new tear. Thanks for reminding us all how easy it is to forget to protect the tendon during recovery.

    Hi Al,

    Yes, the device is adjustable. I read that for short people it is recommended to shorten the excess length of the crutch, but I assume it is really relevant below a certain height. I think you can find the answer at the web site I mention above, or you can just call the company - they will return to you.

    I’m still very happy with the iWalkFree. It offers a different level of freedom and independence compared to crutches.
    Some of the issues that I noticed are:
    - After walking on snow or ice outside (Montreal winter), the leg must be thoroughly dried, otherwise it is very slippery to walk on any polished floor like hard wood or tiles.
    - Stepping on little rags, placed on polish floor, is also dangerous - they can move and make you slip.

    I can bend with it, and I can even sit with it for a short while.
    Overall, I highly recommend it.

    i too am looking at the iwalk to help me get more mobile. Does it have adjustments for leg fitting? What cons have you found in the last few days. Are you able to bend down?

    Like many other ATR victims, I’m sure, I was trying to find all sorts of explanations and reasons why the hell this had happened to me. I didn’t think about the turf. I actually think turf is safer to play on then outdoors grass, which is always full of holes and can become very hard sometimes.
    Frankly, I don’t think I’ll ever know the answer…
    If I had to guess what would be my next serious injury I would never have guessed it would be this one.

    Anyway, good news: the inventor of iWalkFree called me back and they are sending me one tomorrow.

    Lior, I’m sorry that you had to join the club, but welcome.
    I found my iwalk on Kijiji, but I checked Montreal and didn’t see anything there. I would expect that you could get one directly from the company in a couple days if you’re willing to pay full price.
    I see you were averaging a goal a game - nice! I have a pet theory that playing on turf contributed to my injury - do you have any thoughts on that?
