What can I really expect after surgery with the splint instead of cast? Not sure

Surgery Scheduled This Thursday

Talked to OS who said that I would be in splint for two weeks and move every two weeks for a total of 6 weeks before PT. Apprhension as I am not a sitter and have been down for 4 days with more ahead of me.
