10 weeks 2 days Trainers tomorrow
Hi all
I went for a check up today, at the hospital. All seems to be very good, my AT is quite solid. So starting tomorrow, I have been told to wear my trainers. Take it easy, and over the next two weeks progress to FWB walking, possibly with the aid of my crutches. At least now, after my PT appointments, I feel I can now do it. I will keep you all posted.

Congrats Lee!
Might be an easier transition to trainers for you than for me as I was the full 9 weeks in the cast. Feels good to be trying to walk again albeit still slowly. Gradual stretching and strengthening are key for me I think. Plus the confidence to actually put the weight through the injured leg.
Best of luck,
Sam

Hi Lee, just send you an e-mail. There should be no problem for you to fully weight bear and if you cant fit in trainer wera stable flip-flops or crocs. for the swelling, elevate, massage hot and cold shower.
I e-maild you that at week 16 I suddenly felt back to normal and I went running after a 5 year old without even thinking about it. I still didn’t start running yet, but stationary cycling and standing on big toes on the affected site are working now. And all this without surgery, so there should be no reason for you to not get there!! Keep at it!!

I thought you should be the first to know, that today I stood in my trainers, without the aid of my crutches. At last FWB Yeeeha!!!! well I have got a little jelly heel in, does that count? I don’t care what A RESULT, I can stand on my own two feet at last, WITHOUT CRUTCHES. I am doing the dance of a very happy man, “I’m standing I’m standing”. The swelling is getting better but very slowly. My range of movement is improving, with little or no pain. Bugger that though, for now I am STANDING on mount Everest I am on such a high. Happy days are here again, Me happy OH YES.
To you all, If you are reading this wearing a cast, keep at it, your time is coming, and boy does it feel good
I am off to stand in all my favourite places, Garden first, then the Kitchen, Lounge……………
