One month after removing the cast

November 14th, 2009  Tagged , , ,

It has been a month already since the cast has been removed.
At first the walking was really awkward, but now sometimes I forget the rupture ever happened.
I cannot run yet, but I am quite happy that the walking has improved dramatically.
Coming Monday I have to go to my surgeon for my first checkup.
The stretching and other exercises have really helped a lot. I started going to the gym and swimming at least 4 times a week and also in the mobility of my foot I see a lot of improvement during swimming.

Not too much to tell, just to let everyone know that recovery can go quickly.
Just stay positive and listen to your physical therapist !

Thanks - encouraging words. I’m 11 days out of plaster and hoping to swim soon. There is light at the end of the tunnel!

The start of a new year !
I am hoping to start doing some more muscle exercises.
My calf is still fairly thin, but the muscle feels good. No cramps during my 45 minute swimming.

How are things going with your achilles ?
