1st day after surgery

Surgery successful. The pain started in the middle of the night after the block wore off(which was a good option). With sedation and the leg block there were no anethesia side effects and I wasn’t groggy all day. I’ve been keeping it elevated with ice. Thanks for all the encouraging words, it really helped me get through all the pre surgery days and surgery itself. This is great group and I’m blessed to have found it and become a part of it. Thanks, Marty

Great to hear your still optimistic after the nerve block wearing off. If you can handle that like a champ, it gets easier each day.

Keep us posted on your progress. Happy Healing!

You were brave getting the ‘Block’ I looked at the needle they wanted to put in my back and politely declined.

Just got back from doc’s. 3 days after surgery. My crutch slipped on a throw rug forcing my injured foot to the ground. There was instant pain. Good news is the repair is in tact. Please anyone on crutches please de-crutch your living space to spare yourself a preventable accident. I feel silly not looking into this before.

Purple: I agree these crutches are the worst. I find myself now scared to leave the bed because of the crutches.

Marty, have you considered renting a knee scooter? I’m PWB in a boot, but use the scooter around the house so that I don’t get knocked off my feet by the dogs, and at work when I have to travel between buildings to teach. I suspect that I’ll leave the scooter at work once I’m FWB so that if/when I need to give my leg a break (no pun intended!)

Glad you did not have any problems post surgery! Nerve block is a blessing. I swear on one of my surgeries they numbed one area only to stick the needle in a completely different one! Hope you have a great recovery

Niki. Great to hear of your progress. Take it slow and just get used to the weight. I’m sure you will be fine. Keep us posted on your first day FWB. Don’t overdo.
