8 weeks, 5 days and counting

December 15th, 2009

I went on Friday and got checked over. I asked about why I seem to be at the back of this marathon and had a discussion about my treatment so far. My tendon had not just torn but had also become like a “cheesestring” or spaghetti. They had to cut away before repairing and so the tendon has been shortened as well as repaired. The boot is still at 20 degrees off flat and they decided to leave it there. They have referred me for physio with a recommend to “strenghten rather than lenghten” (although they said that hopefully some extra length might be gained) On a positive I do feel there has been some improvement and reading all you posts has shown that the key to recovery seems to be a positive and determined approach to getting back on 2 feet. It might take me a little longer but Iwill get there…don’t wait for me, I’llcatch you up!!

I’m at almost 10 weeks and on two feet since a week.

    You can do it!

And as for length, I was at 0% before surgery and now at 2%!
