2 Shoes!!!!
3 months and I can wear shoes again! 1st day I took it pretty light. 2nd day I walked a lot. Going to PT 3 times a week until the end of the year. I might try and do 4 since insurance changes at the new year.

When you first put weight on your injured leg did you feel ’strong’ enough to stay upright?
I’m 8 weeks/3 days in and next week at 9 weeks/4 days will be expected to be in 2 shoes.
It scares me!
2 shoes, you lucky duck! How I long for the day when I can join the 2-shoe club again! By the way, I sure hope your neighbor lets you sit in his hot tub
I am 9 weeks post op.. and walking in a sneaker.. I ruptured Sept 28th and had the surgery Oct 2nd. Hard cast until Oct 20th.. when it was removed as well as the stitches. My surgeon put a boot on me, at that time, and said to me… I encourage you to take the boot off when your sitting and flex your foot back and forth…. which I did. But I was also totally non weight bearing until Nov 17th.. almost 4 weeks. On Nov. 17 my surgeon checked my foot.. and then said the magic words…. “Okay You can now bear all of your weight!! Start PT.. and I want that boot off your foot in a week to two weeks.” The next few days, I had no problem walking in the boot with no crutches or cane.. and on Thanksgiving Day.. I put a shoe on.. I have been walking in a shoe since then. I have a slight limp but not too severe. Therapy is going well. I might suggest to ANYONE struggling with crutches (I almost killed myself on crutches) ask your doctor for a prescription for a knee walker or scooter.. IT SAVED MY SANITY over the non weight bearing period. I might add.. I am 55 Female and overweight. Good Luck to you all.
Two shoes after 9 weeks. That’s pretty impressive. I can relate to the NWB period you are talking about because that is where I am now at exactly 1 week postop. It also sucks because I have to keep readjusting the position of the leg when I am laying down or sitting down. I go to the doctor next Wednesday and hopefully, I can be out of this cast by then. Thanks for sharing and good luck.
