baby with a broken mommy

I am sooooo bored stiff.  I am only two weeks post-op and all of this waiting is driving me batty.  Does anyone have any suggestions to pass the time (other than the TV, computer, and books) ?

  1. Podcasts. I downloaded a bunch on to my iPod. You can find a ton of free ones!

Video games. I found a game similar to Brain Age for PC. That kept me occupied for a few hours a day.

  2. I hear ya. I’m actually planning my next overseas vacation and doing all the research - gives me something to look forward to.

Sadly, being a computer nerd, I spend a LOT of time making spreadsheets. Spreadsheet off my progress, spreadsheet of what I’m eating/calorie count, spreadsheet of milestones, spreadsheets of the cost, spreadsheets of my 401k…they’re pretty too. But I’m not sure this is sane. I make lists too!.

  3. I highly suggest a Rollator to help with day to day activities. I kneel on the seat and push with my good leg. Get a good pillow for your knee. Wal-Greens, CVS, & Sam’s carry them. I have had back-to-back ATR’s and I could not imagine life at home/work without it. The basket beneath the seat is the best part. My three year old likes to get “rides” from his mom from the living room to the kitchen!
You’ll find your routine will be greatly streamlined into “what do I need to do to get through today”…. Necessity will be the mother of invention for your future, at least for awhile.
Good luck and hang in there!

  4. Jennie and kkdub,

I wasn’t going to admit to the spreadsheets but….I have them for everything also. I’m glad i’m not the only one with “the problem”. =)
