Lull
I’ve been progressively working out the bad calve muscle. In the pool, I take a dumbbell and do calve raises where the buoyancy helps with the body weight. In the gym I do assisted calve raises where I work the muscle as hard as it can and then compensate just to say with the good leg. I also do some calve exercises with one of the plated leg press machines. On that I only do 55lb so far.
I will however admit, I’m a bit depressed that the strength isn’t coming back as fast as I would hope. Mind you, I’m officially ten weeks post injury today.
I’m feeling pretty down today with respect to the leg.
I hope things start to look up. I’m not going to stop working out the leg. Not being a very patient man I just wish things would move along at a slightly faster clip.

Hey Jamie,
I am a new victim and following the same non-op protocol you are on. I am 46 and ruptured playing basketball as well. How are you doing?
Things are finally going better. I’m seeing some solid growth in the affect leg calve muscle. Things are definitely looking up. I was feeling pretty bad for awhile there but I think things have finally turned around.
