My foot is still swollen
How long does it take for the swelling to come out of your foot/ankle after surgery? I still have those annoying jolts. How long before all these symptoms disappear?

Sorry to tell you but i’m 13 weeks post-op and I still get swelling. I still elevate, sometimes ice. Its day to day. Recovery from ATR is like a box of chocolates…..LOL. The swelling that I get now, my doc said not to worry about too much. I asked about it at my last appointment, out of concern. He said,”Did you think I was kidding when I said 6 months recovery?” Guess not.

Yeah that swelling is not going away anytime soon. Mine still puffs up at various times throughout the day and I’m almost 11 weeks post-op. Good luck.

Hi Jamie, I am 8 1/2 weeks post-op and still puffing up like a balloon if I leave my foot down too long. However, I found that when I am weight bearing, the improved blood circulation drastically reduces the swelling while I am walking but it returns later if I don’t elevate.
